I loved being in a band in high school. It was probably the best times I ever had with the two coolest kids. We had a lot of fun and we made music that we liked. I never saw me playing music in any other situation, especially solo. But times change and people go to college and work and get old. Times are rough for everyone right now but we all get through it.
I decided to hit the open-mic stage again. Although I can’t say it worked out as well as I’d hoped. I was trying to write a new song so I didn’t have to play the same one twice. I ended up writing a new song on the day of the open-mic which was not the best idea. It is a song I am proud of, however I was hardly comfortable with it. That was the first mistake I learned from. The second mistake was not being energized enough. It’s impossible to go from sitting on your ass watching TV and then jump up and play. It just doesn’t work. But that’s basically what happened, except I was watching the other people. My first open-mic was great because I was full of energy and I got up there and blew myself away with how it sounded. I hope the crowd liked it just as much.
Here’s what I will do to prepare for the next one in two weeks:
1. Have songs ready and practiced before the day of.
2. Be fucking excited and full of energy before stepping foot into that place.
3. Stop spending money on shit so I can buy a guitar.($200 Headphones were worth it though)
I’m gonna skip the next open-mic so i can better prepare for THE RETURN OF THE JEDI.
